Hermitage, TN - Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at TriStar Summit Medical Center has received a Three-Year/Full Accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons, for providing the highest quality breast care. Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at TriStar Summit has been accredited by the program since December 2013.

Receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center ensures that patients have access to:

  • Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art services

  • Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options
  • Quality breast care close to home

“We are pleased that the NAPBC continues to recognize Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at TriStar Summit with a renewed full three-year accreditation,” says Brenda Farmer, RN, CN, BN, breast cancer nurse navigator, Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at TriStar Summit. “The teamwork that is required to achieve the NAPBC’s stringent accreditation standards ensures that our patients receive the best care for all of their breast health needs, and we work to exceed those standards with our comprehensive offerings from diagnosis through survivorship,” continued Farmer.

Brad Cohen, MD, radiation oncologist and medical director of Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at TriStar Summit, agrees.

“Early detection and a multidisciplinary approach to care continue to be our patients’ best defense in treating breast cancer,” he said.
