Preceptors Residents

PGY-1 Residency Mission: The PGY-1 pharmacy residency program at TriStar Summit Medical Center seeks to build on the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients.

Our program seeks two highly motivated residents who will enhance pharmacy services at our facility for the betterment of patient care. Graduates of our program will be eligible for board certification, postgraduate year two (PGY-2) pharmacy residency training, or to begin a career as a confident and competent clinical pharmacy practitioner.

Celebrating 20 years of providing quality healthcare to Davidson, Wilson, and surrounding counties, TriStar Summit is a 200-bed comprehensive facility offering a full array of acute care services, including cardiology, emergency, oncology, orthopaedics/spine, rehabilitation and women’s services. As an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center, TriStar Summit is a leading provider of emergency heart and stroke care. There are more than 300 board-certified physicians representing over 36 specialties on staff, many of whom have offices located on TriStar Summit’s campus.

Our pharmacy team is a well-established, well-respected, integral part of the patient care team. Providers, nurses, and other staff regard our pharmacists as experts and depend on their advice to improve outcomes for our patients.

Candidate Requirements

Graduation & Licensure: The resident must have received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Residents are required to become a licensed pharmacist in the state of Tennessee.
