Meet TriStar Summit’s Chief Nursing Officer

TriStar Summit’s nurse leaders are the cornerstone of our mission, setting the direction for best-in-class nursing practice, from charge nurses, to house supervisors, to our chief nursing officer. Meet our CNO:

Mary Ann Angle

TriStar Summit’s Chief Nursing Officer

“The most rewarding part of my job is being in a position to provide support, kindness, compassion and care during health-related events to patients and their family members. It’s rewarding to see patients progress to the point that they are able to return to their normal lives.”

Mary Ann Angle is originally from North Carolina. Throughout her healthcare career, Mary Ann has climbed her clinical career ladder at hospitals in South Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Mary Ann’s dedication to enhancing the practice of nursing started during her associate degree at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, North Carolina, and continued through her undergraduate degree at Loyola University, Louisiana, on through her MBA at Louisiana State University.

She believes she is where she is today because of her mother. Mary Ann attributes her faith, strength, perseverance and humility to her mother’s guidance, making her feel loved and secure in the skin she is in. Her mother provided her with support and encouragement, and even when she may not always have agreed with her decision, helped shaped Mary Ann into the leader she is today.

The most challenging part of her career is the emotional impact that nurses endure when patient outcomes are not what is intended despite the best possible care. However, the most rewarding part is seeing her staff work diligently to provide the best possible experience during some of the worst situations that patients encounter.

Mary Ann is a member numerous professional organizations including:

  • American Organization of Nurse Executives
  • American College of Healthcare Executives
  • American College of Healthcare Executives Board of Governors
  • American Nurses Association
  • Tennessee Nurses Association
  • Tennessee Organization of Nurse Executives
  • Leadership Donelson / Hermitage Alumni Committee

In her spare time, Mary Ann attends Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, playing golf, boating on the lake, riding motorcycles and spending quality time with her husband and son.
