2015 Oncology Program Quality Outcomes

  1. Decreased Turn-around Time from Abnormal Mammogram to Breast Biopsy

In 2015, twice as many biopsies were completed in 3 or fewer days in 2015 (29%), compared to 2014 (16%).
  2. Improved Post-Surgical Breast Cancer Education by Nurses

Breast cancer patients need education about their surgical procedures and how to manage their recovery. This is provided by the Surgeon and the Breast Health Navigator. Now patients also receive that information from their recovery nurses, with printed material to review at their convenience. In 2015, 90% of post-surgical breast cancer patients received printed Krames Breast Cancer handouts specific to their surgery, including diagrams and safe exercises to stay flexible and speed healing.
  3. TSMC Scored High For All 7 Accountability Measures Reported By The Commission On Cancer To Evaluate The Quality Of Care
